2009 Schedule
Missionary Boot Camp
(Monday July 13 - 31)
This camp is designed for those who have committed themselves to the mission field. The staff is comprised of veteran missionaries and church leaders that offer practical "hands on experience"
* Lt. Col. Samuel Martin (director of Bearing Precious Seed) will set the stage for the "boot camp". He has traveled extensively and will bring a wealth of knowledge concerning cultures around the world. Discipline and ingenuity will be key elements during his time with us.
* Pastor Marvin Smith (Harvest Baptist Church) will share the vision and responsibility the local church should have concerning missions. Harvest Baptist College offers a degree in missions which is designed to place laborers on foreign fields where they are needed most.
* Doctor Greg Waller will expose us to the medical challenges we may face in third world countries. There will be classroom instruction followed by practical medical labs where the participant will apply what they have learned.
* Bro. Gilbert Anger will challenge us about the philosophy of missions. His vast experience in mission work across the globe and his ministry to other missionaries will give us a unique look into what works and what does not.
* "First Responders" are scheduled to teach first aid and emergency treatment to help us react to situations where there may not be medical help on the field.
* During one week of the boot camp the participants will be directing and leading a junior camp. They will be in charge. Many have never been offered the opportunity to use their talents, receive practical experience, or know the pressure that comes with ministry.
